Director of Finance And Accounting

Our valued client, a globally recognized retail brand is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the financial operations and strategic finance activities for its U.S. operations.

This is a highly visible leadership role that combines financial stewardship, operational leadership, and strategic business partnership. The successful candidate will oversee accounting and reporting while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial performance, planning, and business initiatives. Must have experience from a retail or product driven organization.

• Lead the overall financial management of the business, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all financial activities.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making and business growth.
• Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
• Support leadership in evaluating business initiatives and strategic opportunities.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, reconciliations, and cash management.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and financial reporting obligations.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning processes.
• Develop financial models and business analyses to support strategic initiatives.
• Track key business metrics and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital planning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Must have experience from a retail, or product driven organization.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leadership and influence business decisions.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems aptitude.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
