Senior Vice President, Methodology – Internal Audit

Location:

Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY.

• Partner in the design and implementation of new and enhanced audit practices and ensure proper rollout and absorption into execution, addressing all downstream impacts.
• Develop and maintain IA policies and procedures, including audit methodology and testing approaches; assist in designing audit processes with IA senior management to achieve efficient and effective coverage and testing, while interpreting internal audit standards and guidelines.
• Maintain methodology through routine policy and procedure updates and respond to department queries; develop and distribute internal communications for methodology‑related changes.
• Assist with IA self‑assessment against regulatory and industry standards, and recommend enhancements to IA methodology and guidance.
• Build and maintain key relationships across the audit department to foster a culture of engagement that adds value.
• Observe and share best practices obtained from IA teams and external peers; collaborate to share knowledge, provide assistance, and support personnel development across groups.
• Manage relationships with IA senior management, audit teams, and support functions worldwide.
• Work collaboratively with partners in other roles within the Internal Audit Practices and Administration function.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 10-12 years of professional experience, including 3-5 years in management; prior audit leadership experience at mid‑to‑senior level preferred.
• In‑depth understanding of audit methodologies and knowledge of financial services, with ability to evaluate audit results across multiple lines of business.
• Strong decision‑making capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and interpersonal skills to influence senior stakeholders.
• Critical thinking, advanced problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently, and capability to interpret and apply analytics insights within an audit context.
• A high level of self‑motivation, resilience, and composure under pressure with demonstrated ownership and accountability.
• Advanced presentation development skills, including the ability to design and deliver executive‑level PowerPoint materials that convey complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to communicate clearly and build productive, trust‑based relationships with clients and internal partners.
• Advanced credentials such as an MBA, CPA, CIA or related certification (preferred).
