A leading middle-market investment bank may seek a Deal Origination Analyst to support the identification, evaluation, and execution of potential transactions. These roles are well-suited for candidates interested in strategic client engagement, market research, and pipeline development, in addition to traditional financial analysis.

Identify and source potential M&A, capital markets, and financing opportunities for clients

Conduct industry and market research to uncover trends, growth drivers, and strategic targets

Build and maintain financial models (3-statement, DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution) to support deal analysis

Prepare pitch materials, teasers, and investment memoranda for prospective clients and internal teams

Assist in client outreach and initial engagement to evaluate transaction interest

Support due diligence, data room management, and transaction execution in collaboration with deal teams

Work closely with senior bankers to develop actionable insights and deal strategies

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline

Strong financial modeling and valuation skills

Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication abilities

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Prior internship or full-time experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, or corporate finance is beneficial

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and common financial research tools

Interest in client-facing work and proactive deal sourcing
