O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM) is part of Franklin Templeton, a forward‑thinking asset manager based in Stamford, Connecticut.

Position Summary

Associate Portfolio Manager (APM) – location options:
Stamford, CT or New York City, hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily portfolio management duties for long‑short and long‑only passive, factor, and active portfolios, including monitoring, transitioning, and rebalancing.
  • Contribute to the improvement of diagnostic, analytical, and research platforms for monitoring accounts.
  • Work with Portfolio Managers, analysts, and developers to maintain and refine tax management and portfolio construction processes.
  • Monitor portfolios for adherence to client‑driven mandates and risk and tax budgets.
  • Work daily with Portfolio Solutions and Client Service teams to facilitate trading in client accounts.
  • Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to the broader team.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects and work collaboratively with teams.
  • Experience managing portfolios, utilizing risk models, optimization, and/or quantitative portfolio construction.
  • Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of computational methods such as regression, optimization, and statistical analyses.
  • CFA designation preferred, but not required.
  • Coding skills, for example Python and SQL.
  • Experience in quantitative portfolio management, extension strategies (e.g., 130/30), long/short, or market neutral, with 2–5 years of experience.
  • Detail‑oriented and process‑driven.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring current or future sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: USD $–$ plus discretionary bonus. Other compensation includes a discretionary bonus, a 401(k) plan, health insurance, and other perks. Compensation decisions consider location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience under Franklin Templeton’s total reward philosophy.
