KPMG is currently seeking a Manager or Senior Manager, Global Executive & Private Clients - Japanese to join our Business Tax Services practice.
Responsibilities:- Support clients in analyzing the tax implications of working internationally and filing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions
- Assist clients in operating their payrolls in the United States and around the world, including preparing tax withholding calculations (for example, gross-up calculations), reporting and collecting compensation information, and structuring international compensation packages supporting executives working in multiple jurisdictions
- Process payroll for people who are temporarily working in the U.S. or outside the U.S., who are on an international assignment which includes processing split payrolls, as applicable
- Provide global coordination with country specific third-party payroll providers, including initial set up and ongoing management
- Help clients with implementing leading processes and technologies related to tax compliance and tax planning strategies
- Support clients in responding to questions and notices from the Internal Revenue Service or other taxing authorities
- Lead team building including developing, training and mentoring professionals in the practice
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of recent relevant experience working with Tax, HR, International Assignment Compensation and Payroll; experience working within a Big 4 firm is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or other business related field of study from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, JD/LLM or EA, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials;

- Self-motivated, driven, and ability to work independently as well as part of the team
- Strong technical skills (such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint), critical thinking skills with capability to execute on the details and excellent organizational skills
- Able to speak and write fluent Japanese and English is a must
- Minimum eight years of recent relevant experience working with Tax, HR, International Assignment Compensation and Payroll; experience working within a Big 4 firm is a plus
- Ability to lead and motivate people while working as part of a cohesive team
