About the Role
The ABS Operations Specialist (“AOS”) will join our New York-based Structured Credit team to support the operational needs of Group
1001’s early‑stage ABS management platform. This role is responsible for the integrity of ongoing collateral monitoring, transaction funding, cash reconciliations, and transaction reporting throughout the end‑to‑end lifecycle of private Asset‑Backed Securities and Asset‑Based Financing transactions.
- Facilitate settlement of private ABS funding processes.
- Manage security onboarding, ensuring all static data and structural nuances—including tranches, waterfalls, and credit enhancements—are captured accurately.
- Coordinate cash movements related to funding requests, warehouse borrowing, and expense payments; resolve cash reconciliation breaks.
- Oversee ABS reporting production and cash/portfolio reconciliations; monitor compliance requirements such as eligibility criteria, portfolio concentration limits, and warehouse financing covenants.
- Optimize collateral performance monitoring and surveillance processes.
- Review legal documentation to ensure reporting accuracy of compliance tests, deal triggers, and covenants.
- Calculate waterfall distributions and review/approve trustee‑provided waterfalls.
- Work directly with counter parties to resolve funding and payment issues.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal investment guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 3–8 years of experience in investment operations with a focus on structured products (private asset‑backed securities, forward flows, or warehouse lending).
- Strong understanding of fixed‑income securities and operational knowledge of private ABS, leverage facilities, and warehouses.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex ABS legal documentation, including indentures, credit agreements, and servicing agreements.
- Advanced Excel skills, VBA, SQL, and a firm grasp of payment mechanics; additional programming languages are a plus.
- Experience with Aladdin, Intex, DV01, or Wall Street Office (WSO) is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding structural nuances and data integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and ability to provide data‑driven recommendations on portfolio compliance and reporting.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently and prioritize effectively.
- Eligibility for comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans for employees working 30 hours or more weekly.
- Basic and Supplemental Life Insurance, Short and Long‑Term Disability.
- Immediate access to Employee Assistance Program and wellness programs (no enrollment required).
- 401(k) plan with company matching contributions.
Group 1001 is committed to a supportive work environment that values diversity and inclusivity. All employees share responsibility for maintaining a culture of dignity, respect, and appreciation of individual differences.
