Job Description

The Senior Operations Associate will play a critical role in supporting trading and private credit investment activities, including CRE loans, direct lending facilities, and private equity investments. This individual will own key components of the trade lifecycle, with a particular focus on complex, bespoke, and private credit assets, ensuring accurate trade capture, timely settlement, and effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Management: Develop a deep understanding of trade capture, trade settlement, and private loan lifecycle processes across all traded products, emphasizing private credit assets, CRE loans, and structured credit securities.

  • Loan Lifecycle Execution: Process private loan trades from inception to maturity, including review and execution of closing documentation, funding coordination, security setup, and ongoing lifecycle management (interest payments, paydowns, amendments, and payoffs).

  • Financial Validation: Independently calculate, review, and validate monthly interest accruals (including PIK) and loan balances, reconciling results to third-party loan servicers.

  • Deal Onboarding: Oversee loan and deal onboarding in internal systems. This includes security setup using deal terms sourced from closing documentation, trade booking, and maintenance of accurate investment data.

  • Document Interpretation: Review and interpret loan agreements, participation agreements, and intercreditor agreements; coordinate with investment, accounting, tax, and compliance teams to ensure proper deal‑level setup.

  • Cash & Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the full trade lifecycle and daily cash activity across specified portfolios, including daily cash position monitoring and coordination of intra‑day cash movements to meet funding and settlement requirements.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with internal asset management and investment teams, external co‑participants, and loan servicers regarding upcoming borrower draw requests and related funding/documentation requirements.

  • Operational Liaison: Serve as a primary operations liaison between internal deal teams and external parties (agents, servicers, custodians, administrators, and borrowers) to identify, elevate, and resolve trade settlement discrepancies on a timely basis.

  • Complex Corporate Actions: Manage and support trade lifecycle events for private credit assets and securities, including loan amendments, restructurings, reorganizations, securitizations, and other complex actions.

  • Private Equity Support: Provide operational support for a portfolio of private equity investments (common/preferred stock and warrants), handling post‑closing activities such as tracking capital calls, distributions, and event‑driven changes.

  • Risk & Policy Development: Contribute to the development, enhancement, and documentation of operational policies, procedures, and controls to support a scaling platform and reduce operational risk.

  • Compliance & Onboarding: Assist with KYC/AML, operational due diligence, account documentation, and onboarding for fund launches and new trading relationships in coordination with legal and compliance teams.

  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with technology and investment professionals to identify and implement process improvements, streamline workflows, and enhance control frameworks.
