A rapidly growing, vertically integrated real estate investment manager is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join its leadership team. The firm manages multiple investment vehicles focused on acquiring, operating, and enhancing assets across a specialized property sector nationwide.

Founded in the mid-2010s, the firm has raised several value-add funds backed by a well-capitalized institutional partner and has scaled into one of the larger owners within its niche asset class. The platform follows an active asset management approach, partnering with third-party operators while maintaining rigorous oversight to drive operational improvements, NOI growth, and portfolio optimization.

The team has deep industry experience and a proven track record of scaling institutional-quality portfolios through disciplined sourcing, underwriting, and execution.

Vice President of Finance

Position Overview:

This role will serve as a key finance leader across the management company and affiliated funds. The VP of Finance will oversee planning, forecasting, and performance analytics, while partnering closely with executive leadership, investments, asset management, and accounting teams. This individual will play a central role in driving financial transparency, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the annual planning and budgeting process across the management company and fund entities
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models and predictive forecasting tools
  • Oversee reporting to internal leadership, investors, and lenders
  • Analyze historical performance and provide forward-looking insights
  • Review and explain budget-to-actual variances; identify trends and risks
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and partner cross-functionally to implement improvements
  • Establish financial benchmarks and KPIs to enhance performance tracking

    Support internal control processes and recommend improvements where necessary
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting cycles
  • Enhance reporting infrastructure and help implement budgeting/forecasting systems
  • Drive automation and process improvements within finance operations
  • Partner closely with the CFO on strategic initiatives and special projects
Qualifications
  • 6–12 years of FP&A or strategic finance experience
  • CPA or CFA preferred but not required
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated success improving processes and reporting infrastructure
  • Experience with short- and long-term forecasting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Real estate experience preferred but not required
