Shape the Future of Private Credit Finance
Our client is a powerhouse in global financial services — and they're building out their private markets team. We're looking for a sharp, driven Associate Director of Private Credit Accounting to take ownership of fund accounting and reporting across a dynamic and growing portfolio of private credit vehicles. You'll lead a high-performing team, partner with top-tier investment and operations professionals, and play a central role in the firm's continued expansion into private markets.
What You'll Own- Build and lead a team executing accounting and reporting for private credit funds and investment vehicles — setting the standard for accuracy, speed, and quality.
- Drive the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, investor reports, and management reporting that leadership and LPs actually rely on.
- Own general ledger integrity, NAV calculations, and portfolio performance reporting across the full fund lifecycle.
- Review and approve capital calls, distributions, management fees, incentive allocations, and fund expenses — with the authority and accountability to match.
- Oversee accounting across the credit spectrum: senior secured loans, unitranche, mezzanine, subordinated debt, and structured credit instruments.
- Partner with valuation teams to ensure rigorous, defensible methodologies are applied to illiquid credit assets.
- Be the go-to technical accounting expert on complex transactions and fund structures.
- Manage high-stakes relationships with fund administrators and auditors, holding external partners to the same high bar as the internal team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with investments, tax, and operations — your fingerprints will be on new product launches and strategic fund initiatives.
- Champion process improvement: identify automation opportunities, tighten controls, and modernize reporting infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA and/or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 7–10+ years in fund accounting, financial reporting, or audit within alternative asset management — with deep roots in private credit or direct lending.
- Proven leadership: you've built teams, mentored talent, and made other people better at their jobs.
- Fluency in fund mechanics: waterfalls, capital activity, investor reporting, and multi-entity structures.
- Hands-on experience with leading fund accounting platforms — Allvue, Investran, eFront, Geneva, or similar.
- A reputation for clear communication, rigorous execution, and thriving in fast-moving, complex environments.
