International Bank is seeking an Account Officer to join their Corporate Banking Department in New York City. This hire will have 3-5 plus years of experience in credit, lending, or corporate banking. The Account Officer Corporate Banking is responsible for developing new corporate banking business, with a focus on U.S. syndicated and bilateral credit facilities. The role involves analyzing, originating and managing corporate loan proposals, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and internal policies, and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Account Officer will develop new corporate banking business by identifying and engaging prospective or existing clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate clients regarding non-operational matters.
- Account Officer will be a liaise with agent banks to explore and participate in syndicated loan opportunities.
- Successfully conduct customer onboarding and ensure compliance with OFAC, BSA/AML policies.
- Present and prepare comprehensive credit proposals based on thorough financial analysis, industry research, and risk assessment for approval.
- Successfully perform in-depth credit underwriting, including assessment of collateral, liquidity, management quality, market position, and other key financial indicators.
- Coordinate with Loan Administration to ensure the successful closing of transactions.
- Review and monitor existing credit facilities, track borrower performance, and ensure timely submission of required financials and compliance documents.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Finance, Business, Economics is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in credit, lending, or corporate banking.
- Fluency in Chinese is a plus.
- Advanced analytical skills, sound judgment, and professional discretion.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and complex credit data.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in assessing borrower risk and preparing credit proposals.
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial modeling tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (KYC, BSA/AML, OFAC).
