Private Credit Due Diligence

A leading private markets investment platform is looking to add a Senior Vice President to its Research and Investment Due Diligence team. This role will focus primarily on private credit strategies, while also contributing to broader private markets coverage across private equity, real estate, and real assets.

This is a senior investment research role for someone who has spent a meaningful portion of their career evaluating private capital managers and can lead diligence work from initial review through committee/client-ready recommendations. The ideal candidate will bring deep private credit knowledge, strong qualitative and quantitative judgment, and the ability to communicate investment views clearly to senior stakeholders.

You’ll lead the review and evaluation of private credit managers and strategies, including areas such as direct lending, opportunistic credit, structured credit, and specialty finance. The role involves assessing manager teams, underwriting discipline, sourcing edge, portfolio construction, risk controls, track record, alignment, terms, and overall fit within a diversified private markets platform.

You’ll be responsible for producing thoughtful due diligence work that combines qualitative research with quantitative analysis. This includes preparing written investment recommendations, maintaining a pipeline of new and existing opportunities, monitoring approved strategies, and developing views on private credit market conditions, relative value, credit spreads, interest rates, and portfolio risks.

The role is highly cross-functional and visible. You’ll present investment opportunities and market insights to internal stakeholders, investment committees, clients, and commercial partners. You’ll also work closely with sales, legal, compliance, finance, and broader private markets teams to support investment evaluation, product coverage, education, and ongoing monitoring.

In addition, you’ll help mentor and develop junior investment professionals, set a high standard for diligence quality, and contribute to the continued buildout of a rigorous research culture.

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in private capital manager research, preferably with a strong emphasis on private credit. Experience from an investment consultant, fund-of-funds, allocator, private markets platform, institutional investment team, or similar research/due diligence environment is highly relevant.

Candidates should have a demonstrated track record evaluating private credit strategies and managers, with comfort across investment and operational diligence, portfolio construction, risk assessment, performance analysis, and written investment recommendations.

Strong writing and presentation skills are essential. This person should be comfortable forming an independent investment view, defending recommendations, and communicating complex private markets concepts to senior investment professionals, internal partners, and client-facing audiences.

Experience managing or mentoring junior team members is important, as is the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Relevant backgrounds may include private credit manager research, private markets due diligence, institutional consulting, fund-of-funds investing, LP/allocator investment teams, or senior research roles focused on private capital strategies.
