Brown Advisory’s New York Office is seeking a proactive and professional individual to serve as an Associate Portfolio Manager in our Investment Solutions Group. The role reports directly to the Chief Investment Officer for the Private Client Business and requires deep knowledge of a broad range of investment disciplines and strategies. The Associate Portfolio Manager will provide sophisticated portfolio management support for large family office and endowment clients, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and flexibility in implementing diverse investment strategies.
Theprimary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Participate in portfolio management activities for large, sophisticated family office and endowment clients, managing liquidity needs and analyzing equity, fixed‑income and opportunistic alternative investments.
- Become deeply versed in clients’ portfolio investments—including hedge funds and private equity—and provide research insights as needed.
- Analyze complex financial information and ensure portfolio managers have the data required to perform daily portfolio management duties.
- Work directly with the CIO and Head of Investment Solutions to design search mandates, recommend optimal manager weightings, evaluate risk exposures, and contribute to portfolio construction.
- Oversee development of materials for clients and other investment review committees as necessary.
- Perform detailed analyses of existing and prospective client portfolios and create client‑specific materials and reports.
- Manage all aspects of client relationships, including trading, reporting, communication, and coordination with Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Analysts, ISG Research Team, and Messaging.
- Attend all ISG manager research and asset allocation meetings and develop a strong knowledge of the investment process and platform.
- Perform ad‑hoc analysis on investment managers and asset allocation topics.
- Establish strong working relationships with team members in the New York office and throughout the organization.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience within the finance industry preferred.
- MBA or progress toward CFA designation desired.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bloomberg, Fact Set, Charles River, APX is a plus.
- Ability to multi‑task, establish priorities, and work independently and within a small team.
- Handle confidential material with utmost discretion.
- Passion for financial markets.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work in the New York office five days a week.

Salary: $140 k–$165 k, commensurate with experience and location. The role does not include bonus or long‑term incentive eligibility.
