Our Business Tax Advisory practice gives you the opportunity to focus on U.S. tax information reporting and withholding matters. You will work in a group environment on challenging information reporting and withholding engagements across all financial services sectors. The CTORS team works on non‑resident alien (NRA) withholding and reporting, FATCA, domestic withholding, cost basis reporting, CRS, and other compliance initiatives. As you progress, you will become a trusted business advisor to clients, supported by senior tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Interface daily with superiors, peers, subordinates, and clients on large and small CTORS projects.
- Interpret IRS Code and Regulations, draft guidance, analyze data, and develop requirements to help clients translate and implement tax rules.
- Conduct gap analyses of current client policies, procedures, and systems, and write business requirements.
- Prepare documentation including presentations and flow charts.
- Engage in technical analysis, process improvement, and respond to client requests for proposals.
- Support the development of innovative technology solutions and train/manage staff in remote delivery centers.
- Ability to read and interpret IRS Code, regulations, and instructions.
- Strong writing skills for policy and procedure writing.
- Ability to interface with all facets of the business.
- Multitasking and project management capability.
- Creative problem solving and strong critical thinking.
- Ability to drive success as both an individual contributor and team member.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, and/or Master’s in Taxation (MST) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax consulting or tax operational experience.
- Licensed attorney or CPA.
- Active participation in industry groups such as SIFMA, ABA, IIB.
- Ability to understand and implement tax rules.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in tax information reporting and withholding work in Chapters 3, 4 and 61.
- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with base salary ranging from $128,400 to $235,300 (or $154,000 to $267,400 in selected metros). Includes medical, dental, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off.
