Tax Director

We are working with a leading asset management firm on a Tax Director position. This is a highly visible opportunity that will work closely with senior leadership across finance, legal, and operations on a broad range of strategic tax initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all management company tax compliance and planning activities across multiple entities and structures
• Manage the preparation and review of partnership, corporate, and state/local tax filings
• Coordinate with external advisors on tax compliance, structuring, and advisory projects
• Partner closely with finance and legal teams on entity structuring, compensation-related tax matters, and operational initiatives
• Assist with tax implications related to executive compensation, partner allocations, and management company restructuring initiatives
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate the impact on the management company and related entities
• Support tax audits, notices, and responses to taxing authorities
• Drive process improvements and help build scalable tax processes as the firm continues to grow

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant tax experience within public accounting and/or asset management
• Ideally at least 2+ years within private industry
• Strong experience focused on partnership taxation and management company tax matters within an investment management environment
• Prior exposure to private equity, hedge fund, credit fund, or broader alternative investment structures preferred
• CPA strongly preferred; MST is a plus
• Strong technical tax knowledge with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior stakeholders across the business
