Location: New York

A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Family Office Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accounting records and oversee financial reporting for individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and investment entities.
  • Review account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes and investigate financial discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist with investment and real estate accounting, including tracking capital calls, distributions, and portfolio activity.
  • Prepare tax work papers and supporting documentation for external tax advisors.
  • Coordinate tax-related information requests and track reporting documents, including K-1s and 1099s.
  • Assist with cash management, account administration, and financial transactions across multiple entities.
  • Coordinate with external advisors, attorneys, investment managers, and other service providers.
  • Support ongoing financial projects, reporting requests, and operational initiatives.
  • Perform other duties, as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–15 years of accounting experience, including significant exposure to family office, trust, individual, and high-net-worth accounting environments.
  • Prior family office experience required; experience supporting ultra-high-net-worth individuals and complex family structures strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of personal, trust, and investment-related accounting, with exposure to tax reporting and coordination.
  • Experience working closely with external CPA firms, tax advisors, and other professional service providers.
  • Proficiency with Quick Books and related accounting systems.
