Global Banking & Markets Associate, Settlements

Job Duties

Associate, Settlements with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Ensure all settlement-related queries and requests brought by trading desks are appropriately addressed. Escalate and summarize control failures to team management. Partner with embedded risk managers to develop a remediation plan to address and prevent recurrence. Ensure all discrepancies are appropriately investigated and resolved, while managing client expectations and potential fail exposure.

Identify processes and controls improvement by leveraging tools used to build scalability while mitigating new risks. Coordinate with external clients to ensure timely execution of settlements and resolve all outstanding queries on balances. Participate in enhancement projects across teams to improve scalability and efficiency of confirmation process. Investigate and ensure payments are made by appropriate industry cut offs and any resulting breaks are escalated in a timely manner to the business.

Design and initiate process improvements through thorough understanding of template architecture and system flows.

Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years with: trade booking reviews; validating trade information (including asset class- and region-specific trade information), streamlining essential reporting, and knowledge sharing; communicating complex issues and concepts to a wide array of internal partners with differing levels of product experience;

advanced Microsoft Excel including working with macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF/AND formulas; and identifying process flaws and propose solutions to maximize efficiency.

Annual base salary for this New York, New York
-based position is $97,000-$126,000.
