Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Billing, this position will review invoice packages submitted by schools in the NPS Program to ensure compliance with Local Law and Program Rules. The role involves verifying that schools have submitted all required supporting documentation, including certified invoices, payroll reports, sign-in sheets, proof of payment to the guard company, and any other necessary documents. The position also ensures that the school’s insurance documentation is up to date, that Annual Incident Reports are submitted and compliant, and that any adjustments recommended by Audit and Compliance Services are implemented.
Prevailing wage rates must be accurate according to the NYC Comptroller’s Prevailing Wage Schedule.
- Prepare a reconciliation spreadsheet for each school’s invoice package to check off each supporting document listed after review for accuracy.
- Use FMS to apply first-level approval to invoices that are accurate and complete.
- Reject deficient invoices and provide detailed explanations to schools via email, monitoring responses to finalize returned invoices.
- Liaise with schools regarding approved invoices or invoices that need revision.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities related to the duties described above; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to “1” or “2” above. All candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in “1” above.
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while also collaborating with peers on a regular basis.
- Organizational aptitude with the ability to manage multiple, often-competing priorities, calmly and proficiently while adhering to strict deadlines.

Residency RequirementNew York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. Discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.

Salary: $62,868.00 – $72,298.00
