Investment Governance Specialists support the governance structures that oversee investment activities, ensuring that investment decisions, portfolio construction, and risk-taking align with approved mandates, policies, and fiduciary responsibilities.
The role operates at the intersection of investment teams, risk, compliance, legal, and senior leadership, providing structure, documentation, and oversight around investment processes rather than executing trades.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport investment governance frameworks, including investment committees, risk committees, and oversight bodies
Coordinate investment committee meetings, materials, approvals, and decision records
Maintain investment policies, mandates, guidelines, and governance documentation
Monitor adherence to investment guidelines, limits, and approved strategies
Partner with investment, risk, and compliance teams to support governance reviews and controls
Support governance processes related to new strategies, portfolio changes, and manager appointments
Assist with investment-related reporting for senior management, boards, or trustees
Coordinate responses to governance-related audits, reviews, and examinations
Maintain governance calendars, workflows, and evidence of oversight
Identify opportunities to enhance investment governance processes and best practices
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong understanding of investment management concepts, portfolio construction, and fiduciary principles
Experience or exposure to investment operations, risk, compliance, or governance functions (preferred but not required)
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to synthesize investment information into clear governance and oversight materials
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with governance, risk, or portfolio management systems is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in regulated, deadline-driven environments
Comfort interacting with senior investment professionals and oversight bodies
Strong interest in investment governance, risk oversight, and fiduciary accountability
