Private Equity Operations Analysts support investment teams by managing the operational, financial, and reporting processes for private equity funds. The role blends fund accounting, investor reporting, and transaction management to ensure smooth fund operations and accurate reporting.
These roles often involve close collaboration with fund accountants, investor relations, fund controllers, and portfolio managers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day fund operations including capital calls, distributions, and investor transactions
- Assist with fund accounting processes, including NAV calculations and reconciliations
- Prepare investor reports and support quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting
- Support operational workflows for portfolio companies, including drawdowns, fees, and expenses
- Maintain accurate and organized records for fund and investor activity
- Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies in fund operations
- Support compliance and regulatory reporting as needed
- Assist portfolio and investment teams with operational and reporting requests
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, capital calls, distributions, and fund accounting principles
- Familiarity with fund administration software (e.g., Investran, eFront, or Geneva) is a plus
- Advanced analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, VBA, or other reporting tools is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in private equity operations, investor reporting, and fund administration
