Location: New York

An established private debt and equity investor with more than 10 years of experience and 30 companies under management with offices in Brooklyn and Monsey, NY, is looking for experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will be responsible for overseeing tax filings, managing relationships with external auditors, and ensuring compliance with public market regulations. This role requires strong expertise in financial reporting, risk management, and strategic planning to support the company’s growth and financial health.

Responsibilities:
  • Tax Compliance & Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
    • Implement tax strategies to optimize financial performance and minimize tax liabilities.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations (if applicable).
  • External Audit & Compliance:
    • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring smooth and transparent audit processes.
    • Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls to support audit readiness.
    • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including SEC reporting requirements for public companies.
  • Public Market Expertise:
    • Manage investor relations, including earnings calls, financial disclosures, and regulatory filings.
    • Oversee financial planning and analysis to support public market expectations and shareholder value.
    • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other financial governance requirements.
  • Strategic Leadership & Financial Management:
    • Provide financial guidance to the executive team to support corporate strategy and growth initiatives.
    • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and risk management strategies.
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation to optimize financial performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in a public company.
  • Expertise in tax compliance, external audits, and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of public markets, investor relations, and financial regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
