Supervisory Accountant, Reinsurance
Key Responsibilities- Coordinating excess of loss and quota share cessions and/or related adjustments on numerous reinsurance programs across multiple lines of business.
- Creating and reviewing journal entries on a monthly basis.
- Calculating premium adjustments.
- Coordinating with Reinsurance Collections on settlements and cash application.
- Performing reviews in compliance with SOX controls.
- Supporting responses to reinsurer inquiries through research and analysis.
- Supporting CFO and FP&A teams in answering questions on reinsurance activities for specific programs.
- Reviewing Schedule F Part 3 for recoverable, payable and funds held balances related to reinsurance programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance operations, including underwriting, claims, accounting, finance and associated processes, controls and systems.
- Insurance-technical accounting expertise with understanding of inter-relationships between balance sheet and income statement.
- Business acumen and awareness of global macroeconomic factors impacting financial results.
- Experience leveraging onshore and offshore management and staff resources on a global basis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across Finance and operational disciplines.
- Systems-technical acumen with ability to understand new finance architecture and reporting platforms.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to see broader objectives.
- Ability to operate successfully in dynamic, transformational environment.
The base salary range for this position is $87,000-$109,000. The position is eligible for bonus compensation in accordance with the incentive plan and offers a comprehensive Total Rewards Program that supports health, well‑being and financial security.
