About the roleAs financial institutions face increasing regulatory scrutiny, the challenge is no longer simply understanding regulations—it is operationalizing them consistently across the enterprise and demonstrating compliance to regulators.
We are looking for a Regulatory Compliance & Governance Lead who understands how banks translate laws, rules, and regulations into policies, procedures, controls, monitoring programs, testing frameworks, and regulatory evidence.
This role is ideal for someone who has built, managed, tested, or overseen Compliance Management Systems (CMS), regulatory change programs, compliance monitoring and testing functions, or large‑scale regulatory remediation initiatives within a bank, credit union, broker‑dealer, or other regulated financial institution.
You will help Fano understand how financial institutions operationalize regulatory requirements and where technology can improve policy governance, control monitoring, evidence collection, and regulatory oversight. You will work closely with customers, product teams, and executive leadership to identify opportunities where AI and automation can strengthen compliance programs and reduce the cost and complexity of regulatory compliance.
This is a highly strategic role that combines regulatory expertise, operational insight, customer engagement, and product innovation.
Must Have Experience- 10+ years in banking, wealth management, broker‑dealer, or financial services compliance
- Direct experience building, operating, or overseeing Compliance Management Systems (CMS)
- Experience translating regulatory requirements into policies, procedures, controls, and monitoring programs
- Experience managing or supporting regulatory examinations, enforcement actions, consent orders, or remediation programs
- Experience designing or executing compliance monitoring, compliance testing, assurance, or regulatory oversight programs
- Strong understanding of how evidence is collected, validated, and presented to regulators
- Experience partnering with regulators such as OCC, CFPB, FDIC, Federal Reserve, FINRA, SEC, or state banking agencies
- How regulatory obligations are translated into operational policies
- How policies are implemented across business units
- How compliance programs monitor policy adherence
- How controls are tested and validated
- What evidence regulators expect during examinations
- Where compliance teams rely on manual processes
- Where AI and automation can improve monitoring, governance, and oversight
