Overview
Director, Finance Business Partner. Mastercard is a global technology company in the payments industry. The Finance Business Partner role is responsible for a broad range of finance-related responsibilities as a finance leader, including short- and long-term planning, vendor deal management, contract management, pricing and product management, cost optimization, and business case development with benefit tracking. The successful candidate will gain experience in managing technology spend, investments, ROI, and prioritization of initiatives.
Responsibilities- Drive aspects of financial reporting for designated Technology business units, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and target setting.
- Provide financial insights to leadership with advanced budgeting, long-range planning, and detailed forecasting.
- Partner with regions, business units, business partners, and corporate to develop, analyze, and validate new business cases for modernization and technology advancement imperatives.
- Execute large, complex agreements with sourcing and SME support for designated areas (e.g., financial and data technology tools).
- Apply the Technology Business Management (TBM) framework to allocate technology costs and understand total cost of ownership of products.
- Assist with strategy and process improvements to ensure appropriate forecast, close, and cost optimization; identify and implement process improvements.
- Manage a team, conduct goal setting and performance appraisals, and coach and mentor talent.
- Seasoned leader with proven experience building high-performing teams and working in matrix organizations across functions and businesses.
- Track record of building internal and external business partnerships; ability to understand stakeholder needs and objectives.
- Experience overseeing global, complex management reporting (e.g., monthly financial results, quarterly forecasting, annual budgets).
- Collaborates with supporting functions such as Sourcing, Controllership, Tax, and others to ensure finance and P&L impacts are considered in decisions to minimize financial risk and forecast surprises.
- Experience consulting and advising the business on risk and opportunity considerations using advanced analytics and awareness of outside trends.
- Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives and develop implementation procedures.
- Demonstrated oversight of high-risk issues resolution to ensure completeness and efficiency; effective change management and adaptation to evolving environments.
- Experience with technology finance and tools such as Apptio or other TBM tools.
