About the Global Investment Research Team
The Global Investment Research (GIR) team is a client-facing investment research group within FTSERussell’s Equity and Multi‑Asset business vertical.
Role Purpose and ResponsibilitiesThis role sits within the FTSERussell Global Investment Research team and can be based in New York or London. The focus is private markets investment research.
- Lead the initiation of Private Markets research for GIR, providing investable insights across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, and real estate.
- Develop research using index data (FTSERussell & Stepstone) and cross‑asset perspectives to highlight asset‑allocation insights.
- Publish high‑quality research content, including periodical reports, short storytelling pieces, topical insights, white papers and deep thematic research.
- Host webinars, senior/strategic client‑facing engagements and actively participate in industry conferences.
- Collaborate with GIR team members across asset classes and global locations, and partner with internal stakeholders in Product, Index methodology, Marketing and Sales.
- Support index product strategies for ETF client adoption and AUM‑based revenues.
Post‑graduate degree in investment management or equivalent experience. CAIA or CFA a plus.
- 10+ years of private‑markets investment research and portfolio management experience on the buy‑side or sell‑side.
- Deep understanding of global financial markets, multi‑asset investing and private markets.
- Strong quantitative and coding skills (Python, Jupyter, SQL, Git).
- Familiarity with LSEG Workspace, Datastream and other data platforms.
- Track record of client‑facing research publications and senior‑level client engagement.
- Ability to work in a global team across time zones.
Base salary: $239,800‑$399,600; salary may vary by location.
- Eligible for Annual Incentive Plan with target rates commensurate with role level.
