Position Summary
At Stony Brook Medicine, the Staff Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Budget & Cost and is part of an integral team that compiles data and statistics from various hospital departments, assists in monthly financial reports, completes surveys, and performs budget transfers and account analysis. The successful candidate will support Senior Financial Analysts in carrying out the responsibilities of the Budget & Cost department and demonstrate superior customer service and communication skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.
Duties- Assist with the compilation of monthly financial reports and statistics.
- Serve as budget liaison to assigned hospital division and assist in the budget development process.
- Perform budget transfers and address issues related to budget transfers.
- Update and maintain Lawson, Campus Budget Module, Idea Budget, and ERAS.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field with an Accounting concentration or coursework.
- At least one year of accounting or finance experience.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of finance principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent data analysis skills and ability to synthesize and comprehend large quantities of data.
- Comfortable with technology; proficiency with the MS Office suite, particularly Excel spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of Lawson, SUNY BI, and McKesson Idea.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field.
$63,672 – 81,713 per year (dependent on validated experience).
