Job Overview – Vice President of Finance
Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000/year.
Location:
New York, NY.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid).
Atlantic Group is hiring a Vice President of Finance in New York, NY for our client, supporting financial leadership, operational oversight, and strategic decision-making within a nonprofit environment. This hybrid role serves as a key partner to the CFO, overseeing core finance functions including accounting, budgeting, grants, and audit. The position requires strong leadership experience, knowledge of government-funded programs, and the ability to manage large teams and complex financial operations.
Responsibilitiesas the Vice President of Finance
- Finance Leadership: Oversee accounting, payroll, AP, AR, budgeting, grants, and audit functions across the organization.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor direct reports while overseeing a large finance team.
- Strategic Partnership: Partner with the CFO on financial planning, decision-making, and operational initiatives.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee financial statements, audits, and compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Banking and Cash Management: Manage banking relationships, cash flow, and credit facilities.
- Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Work with internal teams, vendors, and funding agencies to support financial operations and reporting.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, CPA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience within nonprofit or social services organizations is required, with 2+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience working with government-funded programs and NYC agencies is required.
- Technical
Skills:
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, audits, budgeting, and accounting systems is required. - Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex operations and teams are required.
