Managing Director, Nature Finance

Responsibilities

• leads Nature Vest’s team of impact finance professionals in developing and executing on impact investment and sovereign debt products.
• Provides oversight of and input into the development of both sovereign and non‑sovereign transactions and new product lines, with accountability for managing teams to originate and close transactions.
• Sources investment capital and structures transactions to deliver conservation outcomes aligned with TNC’s 2030 Goals.
• Provides financing expertise to inform the development of new private equity, corporate finance and other finance mechanisms to deliver impact.
• Oversees numerous projects across relevant geographies in coordination with TNC Global Strategy and Regional Leadership colleagues.
• Cultivates new partners and opportunities.
• Manages external relationships with finance institutions, NGOs, country governments, and other key stakeholders within Nature Vest’s mandate.
• Directly manages Nature Vest’s Impact Investments and Sustainable Debt teams.
• Reports to the Managing Director of Nature Vest.

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
• 9 years related work experience in a private sector environment, such as investment banking, multilateral finance or government entity, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Debt and structured finance experience and experience structuring, negotiating and closing debt and equity transactions, including in emerging markets.
• Experience with debt swap structures, terms and mechanics.
• Experience with impact investing structures.
• Track record of ensuring programmatic commitments, policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
• Ability to direct the design and implementation of complex and diverse projects, setting deadlines and ensuring program accountability.
• Ability to make strategic decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
• Experience negotiating complex legal agreements from a business and financial perspective.
• Experience working at a senior level.
• Written and verbal fluency in English.
