Job Summary

We are looking for candidate(s) who is responsible for maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio as Junior Account Officer (JAO) / Junior Relationship Manager (JRM), developing banking business with new and existing customers, and driving corporate banking projects for Japanese companies.

Major Responsibilities

Face customers to maintain relationships and manage accounts, gaining a deep understanding of their businesses, organizations, and banking transactions.

Develop new business opportunities in areas such as commercial loans, deposits, transaction banking, foreign exchange, and derivatives.

Negotiate terms and conditions to maximize profitability and minimize risks.

Act as a key member of the deal team by preparing lending proposals and pitching to prospective clients.

Promote cross‑selling initiatives across the Bank’s services to enhance sector penetration and returns.

Structure loan financing based on thorough risk assessments and assist in securing credit approvals from the Bank’s appropriate authorities.

Support Relationship Managers by acting as liaison to internal parties (Product Office in the U.S., Headquarter in Tokyo, Japan, and MUFG’s other offices or branches worldwide), assist with business operations, client‑facing activities, regulatory reporting, arranging business trips or client meetings, and creating meeting minutes and call memos.

Participate in various projects including rule or procedure changes, revising fee tables, and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Assist with duties or inquiries related to compliance matters, ensuring adherence to all bank policies and procedures related to regulatory compliance as required.

Perform and coordinate other duties and projects as assigned by the Department Head, Team Manager or Relationship Managers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics.
3+ years of associate‑level professional experience; banking experience in the U.S. and international market preferred. 3 years of associate‑level banking experience in the U.S. and international marketplace is required.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong financial aptitude and broad analytical ability.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, including business writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation skills.
Knowledge of domestic and foreign financial markets and products, including non‑banking financial institutions.
Bilingual in Japanese and English.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay range: $105,000 – $153,000 depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for discretionary performance‑based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
