Finance Associate – King & Spalding

Position overview:

The New York office of King & Spalding seeks an associate for its dynamic and growing Finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate and execute complex finance transactions, including leveraged finance, acquisition finance, asset‑based lending, unitranche, first/second lien, mezzanine and/or subordinated debt financings, and distressed debt and restructurings.
• Represent lenders, investors, borrowers, and issuers in those transactions.

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience negotiating and executing finance transactions at a large law firm.
• Self‑starter with strong client management skills.
• Superior academic credentials.
• Strong deal experience.

Clients include leading investment and commercial banks, non‑bank lenders (private debt funds, private credit, direct lenders), BDCs, mezzanine funds, hedge funds, and sponsored and corporate borrowers and issuers.

Compensation:
Anticipated full‑time annualized salary range is $235,000 to $420,000+, contingent upon relevant experience, internal equity, market data, job location, and other job‑related factors.
