Analyst, Asset Finance

A top global alternative asset manager is seeking an Asset Based Finance Analyst to join its growing ABF team in New York. This is a compelling opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of private and public asset backed transactions at one of the world’s premier institutional investment firms.

• Research and analyze collateral and performance data, model and assess structures, and design investment strategies in asset based finance.
• Evaluate credit risk on new transactions, including analysis of financial statements, capital structures, and the industry and competitor landscape.
• Work with legal teams (internal and external) to analyze deal documents, manage regulatory risk, and support the deal closing process.
• Collaborate with banking teams to evaluate new opportunities in the deal pipeline and engage in discussions around funding and warehouse facilities, as well as term financing through new issue securitization.
• Perform valuation and due diligence, create credit memos, negotiate servicing agreements, and build investment structures across various deal types.

• Relevant experience in specialty finance, financial institutions, or asset based finance.
• Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills.
• Degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computational science, or a similarly quantitative field.
• Deep, bottoms-up approach to research and analysis with an appreciation for broader sector trends.
• Ability to combine knowledge of mathematical finance, empirical statistics, and market insight to identify trade opportunities.
• Commercial mindset with strong judgment around valuation and pricing methodologies.
