Aboutthe Job
The Shared Service Center Associate reports to the Director of Shared Services and assists with the accounting and reconciliation processes in our Shared Services Center, a team within the Controllership group that handles back-office accounting for all branches. This role offers growth and learning opportunities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Daily reconciliation of a large volume of loan repayments using Black Line.
- Ensure integrity of data in Mambu by correcting reconciling items identified during review.
- Investigate returned payments to determine legitimacy of chargeback activity and process updates in Mambu.
- Commit to learning Black Line for repayment/disbursement reconciliations.
- Assist in training branch staff in reconciliation processes and Black Line when needed.
- Verify daily loan disbursement activity as per disbursement partners’ data matches Mambu.
- Prepare journal entries in Mambu as needed.
- Assist other team members in various accounting processes and loan testing as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, supporting projects or priorities that advance the mission.
- 1–3 years of experience working for a micro‑lending institution is a plus.
- Committed team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Proficiency with and interest in technological methods for improving workflows and increasing productivity.
- Attend required in-person quarterly staff meetings in New York City.
