Responsibilities
We are looking for college seniors or master’s students in their final year to join Bernstein’s premier Equity Research team in our New York office. If you have a passion for research and are interested in building a long‑term career in the investing world, there’s no better place to start than Bernstein. Our Research Associates play an important role in producing the research Bernstein is famous for: unbiased, thematic, collaborative, data‑driven, and always differentiated. You will develop relationships across the investing community and over time become a thought partner to our clients. You will work closely with your team but also have a high degree of autonomy and independence. We provide an intellectually challenging but supportive environment for careers in investment research and look for team players with exceptional communication skills.
We have an outstanding Associate program and make a strong commitment to development. Summer Interns often join us for full‑time Associate roles after graduation, and full‑time Research Associates often advance to Senior Research Associate positions and/or go on to graduate school.
- Develop sector expertise working with a Senior Analyst who is a seasoned industry expert
- Become highly proficient at in-depth analysis of your companies, stocks and industry themes
- Author written research that is famous for its deep industry insights and analytical rigor, including our signature Blackbook product
- Become adept at financial forecasting, including building detailed forward‑looking models
- Build strong relationships across the investing community, including our sales and trading teams and institutional clients
- Build a network within your industry including senior management of your companies
Currently we are considering undergraduate or master’s students graduating between December 2026 and June 2027. We seek students who love to solve problems, analyze data, and are passionate about in‑depth fundamental analysis. Our Research Associates typically have track records of outstanding academic performance. We look for evidence of thought leadership, intellectual breadth, quantitative rigor and a differentiated approach to solving problems.

- Financial modeling experience
- Demonstrated experience working with clients in a professional service environment

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:
Base Salary Range: $105,000 to $105,000. Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job‑related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at Bernstein, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year‑end incentive compensation, short‑ and long‑term incentives and Department‑specific awards. In addition, Bernstein provides a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, paid time off.
The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, Medical/Dental/Vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
