Our client is a forward-thinking asset management firm founded by a quantitative pioneer to invest at the frontiers of global innovation (AI, robotics, space, genomics). Managing approximately $3B in assets, the founder also oversees a high-growth family office.
We are seeking a high-caliber, polished, and strategic Director of Finance to serve as the founder's ultimate professional right-hand. This person will take complete ownership of the founder’s personal, family office, and operating business financials, saving them critical time and bringing elite organization to his private ecosystem.
The Role &Key Responsibilities
This is a comprehensive, end-to-end financial role requiring a rare blend of impeccable execution (billpay, cash flow management) and high-level.
- Strategic Tax Oversight & Executive Review
:
Act as an expert filter between the Founder and external accountants. You will possess deep personal income tax expertise, reviewing returns with an analytical eye to spot errors, missed deductions, or strategic planning opportunities that previous professionals may have overlooked. (Ability to step in and prepare personal returns if ever needed). - Financial Operations & Cash Flow Management
:
Take over day-to-day corporate and personal financial functions for 3 distinct operating businesses and the family office. This includes managing bank accounts, processing accounts payable/bill pay, forecasting cash flow, and managing payroll via Paychex. - Systems Management
:
Maintain pristine digital records and day-to-day general ledgers using Quick Books Online (QBO). - Executive Right-Hand Liaison
:
Act as the primary point of contact and bridge between the Founder, internal teams, and external CPAs/advisors.
We are looking for a seasoned professional who carries themselves with a high degree of executive presence and intellectual maturity. This role is built for someone looking for a long-term professional home.
- Technical Expertise
:
Absolute mastery of Quick Books Online (QBO) and personal income tax codes. Prior experience managing the sophisticated financial landscape of a high-net-worth individual or a family office is highly preferred. - Credentials
: A CPA designation is strongly preferred. - Polished Communication
:
Strong presence and presentation skills. You must communicate with precision, confidence, and absolute discretion when dealing with the Founder and elite external stakeholders. - Mindset: Proactive, deeply analytical, and naturally inquisitive. You don't just 'input data'—you actively look for ways to optimize, save money, and streamline processes.
