About the Position
The Transport, Logistics, and Automotive (TLA) sector within ING Wholesale Banking is responsible for developing corporate and investment banking business for ING across the TLA sectors globally. The sector team, based in New York, works with clients in the transportation, logistics and automotive industries to provide wholesale banking solutions including financing, advisory services, financial market solutions and transaction services.
Responsibilities- Support MDs, Directors and VPs in the TLA Team with origination and structuring of financing solutions, emphasizing the Auto, Shipping, Intermodal Transportation, Rail, Aviation and Logistics sectors.
- Onboard clients/borrowers, perform KYC and industry & market analysis.
- Prepare pitches, presentations and pitching materials for new financing opportunities, capital structuring and M&A transactions.
- Write green‑light memos, credit summaries and written summaries for new lending transactions.
- Use own or third‑party financial models to prepare or review financial projections, sensitivity analysis and due‑diligence materials.
- Participate in the credit application process and maintain industry and market intelligence databases.
- Strong academic track record with an Undergraduate or Master’s degree from a top school.
- Solid math and analytical skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Highly detail‑oriented and accurate.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with outstanding Excel skills and ability to build or use third‑party financial debt models.
- Fundamental understanding of GAAP accounting principles and core financial statements (Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and Balance Sheet).
- Fundamental understanding of key financial markets and products.
- Basic understanding of corporate and bankruptcy law.
- Team‑player, self‑motivated and capable of high‑quality/high‑quantity production.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Math.
- 4–5 years of relevant project or corporate finance experience, ideally in Transportation, Logistics or Automotive.
- Experience with pitching materials and PowerPoint.
- Microsoft Excel Series 79/63 certification or a commitment to obtain it within six months of joining.
- Writing sample (preferably a credit analysis) and basic debt‑modelling test.
Salary: $130,000 – $175,000 (base salary only). The role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
