Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is a leading global financial institution committed to sustainable growth and innovation. We are currently seeking a Corporate Finance Analyst to support our Sponsor Finance & Direct Lending business unit.
Job SummaryThe analyst will evaluate and underwrite Direct Loans and other credit exposures to private equity‑owned non‑investment‑grade borrowers. Responsibilities include credit analysis, risk assessments, portfolio monitoring, and support for originations, syndications, and relationship management.
Responsibilities- Support credit analysis and management of the Sponsor/Direct Lending business unit.
- Perform due diligence on new transactions and ongoing portfolio evaluations.
- Assist in structuring and negotiating terms and credit agreements with sponsor clients.
- Prepare detailed credit analyses and credit applications in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidance.
- Model financial performance, including company history, projections, and capital structure.
- Contribute to coverage team pitch books and attend client meetings as required.
- Support syndication strategy, including lender presentations and liaison with participant lenders.
- Coordinate and communicate account information across organizational constituencies.
- Be a generalist coverage resource, understanding industry conditions relevant to the assigned portfolio.
- Oversee facility closing procedures, operations, and documentation.
- Work within a deal team environment to support the development and analysis of financing structures and credit transactions.
- Communicate with the credit approval division to align risk strategy and policy.
- Evaluate and establish appropriate ratings for transactions and correlate exposure levels at both transaction and group levels.
- Ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree; CFA candidacy preferred.
- Experience in financial institutions or a credit risk‑related function analyzing corporate customers.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and corporate finance.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced financial modeling skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
The typical base pay range for this role is $110,000–$120,000, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. The role may also be eligible for discretionary performance‑based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
