Overview
Our client, a boutique investment bank that specializes in biotech and life sciences is seeking either an Investment Banking Analyst 1 or Analyst 2.
Responsibilities- The Investment Banking Analyst role is a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area.
- Candidate needs experience in biotech or life sciences.
- The analyst will support deal execution and advisory engagements by building detailed financial models, conducting company and industry research, and preparing pitch books and client presentations.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include performing valuation analyses, assisting with due diligence, organizing data rooms, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- The role also involves monitoring market developments, analyzing financial statements, and contributing to the preparation of marketing materials and transaction documentation.
- This position offers exposure to a broad range of transactions and a fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Strong finance and investment banking skills, including understanding of capital markets, valuation methods, and transaction structures.
- Experience in the sciences.
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities, with proficiency in Excel and the ability to build and maintain complex models.
- Excellent analytical skills and due diligence experience, including financial statement analysis, industry research, and data interpretation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; advanced coursework or certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
- Proficiency in presentation and documentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word) and comfort preparing professional client materials.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to internal teams and clients.
- Ability to work on-site in the New York City Metropolitan Area, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Prior internship or work experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or related fields is highly beneficial.
