A&M’s Transaction Advisory Group has an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in New York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Nashville, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
How You Will ContributeYou will bring your energy, passion, and expertise to help our clients get the answers they need to complete deals. You will work with a highly motivated, effective team on a variety of projects across manufacturing, distribution, consumer, retail, restaurants, business and industrial services, healthcare, software & technology, energy and financial services. You will gain exposure to our integrated due diligence approach that goes beyond traditional quality of earnings analyses and focuses on key value drivers for sponsors and lenders.
Responsibilities- Assist with core financial due diligence, helping to identify key risks and potential deal breakers, assess the strengths and weaknesses of the business against industry benchmarks, and aid in the evaluation of the potential transaction in the context of clients’ investment strategy.
- Analyze detailed financial statement information, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and key operational data, and synthesize meaningful information for client discussions.
- Assess the quality of the target company’s reported earnings, net assets and cash flows.
- After an investigative analysis, assist in constructing deal‑oriented reports and presentations for clients that highlight key financial, commercial and other findings, and clarify how such findings affect valuation, purchase/sale agreements, and negotiating points.
- Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management, client personnel, and serve as a secondary point of contact for day‑to‑day execution matters.
- Be actively involved in building and maintaining client relationships and supporting business development opportunities.
- Minimum of 2‑4 years of audit and financial accounting due diligence experience at a top accounting firm, with at least 1 year in financial due diligence.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and/or related major.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or currently in the process of obtaining one.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Flexibility to work as both a team member and an individual contributor.
- Ability to thrive and be effective in fast‑paced settings.
Our robust performance development process promotes continuous learning, rewards contributions, and fosters a culture of meritocracy. The base salary is $130,000 annually, with discretionary bonus potential based on individual and firm performance. Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D and disability coverages, and a 401(k) retirement plan with discretionary company contributions.
