Residential

Structured Finance Business

The Residential Structured Finance business focuses on originating and executing a variety of residential mortgage transactions, such as securitizations on behalf of clients as well as Goldman Sachs, advisory assignments, warehouse and term financing, and whole loan principalling. The business operates across the broad spectrum of products and asset classes within housing and mortgage finance. The role will involve the sourcing, structuring, and marketing of securitizations, warehouse and term financings, principal transactions, and advisory assignments.

Scope

of Role
  • Active client engagement on an ongoing basis including sourcing new opportunities, execution of live deals, and managing client relationships.
  • Structure and execute mortgage finance transactions, including negotiation of terms and review of deal documentation.
  • Perform due diligence on transactions including market research, on-site evaluation, analytical risk-based modeling and asset valuation work, and assessment of legal, regulatory compliance and other risks.
  • Product development – collaborate to monitor market developments and devise novel and unique features to optimize securitization and bilateral financing structures; understand the implication of and solve regulatory, structural and market challenges.
  • Model and research development – develop financial models in support of transaction execution, rating agency interactions and investor dialogue.
  • Communication – interact with external clients, investors, rating agencies, accountants, other deal parties and internal teams regarding overall transaction and related details; participate in meetings and client events, traveling as required.
Minimum Education and Experience

Vice President:
Bachelor's degree plus 8‑10+ years of non‑agency residential mortgage‑backed securities experience or related experience.

Qualifications / Skills Required
  • Structured products experience and demonstrated knowledge of fixed income markets.
  • Demonstrated financial modeling skills to understand and develop deal structure and cash flow waterfall models for revolving and amortizing transactions.
  • Experience using Intex and Bloomberg.
  • Experience evaluating non‑agency mortgage‑backed securities and mortgage credit risk.
  • Ability to communicate and work under tight time frames with external clients and internal teams.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive team player that will drive transactions and projects.
Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States‑based position is $125,000–$250,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year‑end.
