Credit Analyst PE Funds

Overview

Responsible for processing front-to-end BCA (Business Credit Analysis) for Hedge Fund or Sponsor clients based on professional experience. The candidate acts as primary analyst for assigned accounts by performing independent, forward-looking credit analysis of current and prospective clients and serves as a secondary analyst as needed. Provide rating and limits recommendations based on the analysis. Serve as a Credit Analyst point of contact, working closely with clients, relationship managers, legal and internal teams to manage internal compliance, booking and funding processes.

Plan and conduct the overall credit process and proactive monitoring of credit events for assigned accounts. Stay up to date with industry news/events and potential impacts on the assigned accounts.

Evaluation and understanding of risk associated with individual transactions, products, borrowers, and counter parties. Ensure compliance with all internal and regulatory credit/portfolio-related policies in conjunction with GAM (Global Account Manager), Client Manager and related Financial Markets teams. Monitor risk triggers, covenants and other credit conditions and prepare reports, escalation actions as per policy/procedure. Monitor ISDA NAV triggers and track the evolution of client performance and risk profiles over time.

Strive to ensure zero BCA overdue and work to minimize extensions.

Ensure compliance of all internal and regulatory credit/portfolio-related policies in conjunction with GAM/CM/FM teams. Contribute to the excess report process (including proposing limit increases or reducing exposures) and promptly address queries. Participate regularly in account planning sessions to maintain familiarity with the customer's business. Visit/meet customers to conduct credit due diligence of existing customers with credit lines as part of the annual credit review process.

Conduct enhanced credit due diligence to achieve a clear understanding of credit risks associated with new transactions. Prepare call reports on credit/risk-related discussions.

Solid knowledge of Hedge Fund and/or Private Equity fund industry. Strong credit analytical skills including financial statement analysis, industry analysis, and the credit due diligence process. Ability to work well with team members and stakeholders. MS Excel and Word. Familiarity with financial markets, especially FX and Derivatives. Familiarity with ISDA/CSA processing.

Solid understanding of financial markets and investment funds, and the embedded risks associated with their investments and operations. History of performing financial statement analysis. Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting or related fields. Advanced Certification is a plus (MBA/CFA). Ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamic work environment with varying levels of supervision. Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work across cultures in a dynamic environment. Prefer at least 2 years of credit analyst experience covering Hedge Funds or Sponsors.

Expected annual base pay range for the role is 100,000 USD to 125,000 USD. Final offer determined on factors including skill set, experience, and location. Base pay is part of total compensation, which may include discretionary variable pay and other benefits. Some roles may include assessments as part of the recruitment process.
