Citigroup Global Markets Inc. seeks an Underwriter for its New York, New York location.

Duties:
Perform independent credit underwriting and risk analysis for complex Middle Market, Private Credit, Broadly Syndicated Loan, CLO, and structured finance transactions, including both new originations and amendments. Conduct in-depth financial, credit, and structural analysis of borrowers, underlying assets, and transaction frameworks to assess creditworthiness and risk profile. Develop underwriting views, risk assessments, and credit recommendations to support approval decisions by senior risk and business stakeholders.

Lead the preparation of comprehensive underwriting memoranda, financial models, and analytical materials used in credit approval and transaction execution processes. evaluate transaction structures, collateral arrangements, covenant frameworks, and repayment sources to identify key risks and mitigants. Partner with risk management, legal, operations, and business teams to resolve complex underwriting issues and support transaction execution. Participate in credit discussions with internal stakeholders by presenting analytical conclusions and responding to risk-related inquiries.

Monitor approved credit exposures and assess ongoing portfolio performance against underwriting expectations and risk standards. Analyze market, industry, and macroeconomic trends to inform underwriting decisions and portfolio risk assessments. Support enhancements to underwriting processes, analytical tools, and data integration initiatives to improve credit decision-making. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Statistics, Business Analytics & Risk Management, Economics, Business Administration or related field and 1 year of experience as an Underwriter or related position involving Corporate Credit, Underwriting or Structured Products. One (1) year of experience must include:
Reviewing transaction term sheets / structures and credit agreements, assessing alignment with market terms and applicable risk parameters, and proposing amendments or edits which fit firm’s credit appetite and assessment of current market conditions;
Monitoring the developments of underlying collateral and relevant credit trends of the portfolio companies and associated industries and sectors;
Evaluating borrowing base and correlation risk across different assets/collateral, identifying relevant patterns and performing scenario analysis to assess potential credit outcomes; and Researching private markets trends, investment strategies of institutional investors and other market participants to support underwriting decisions.
