Strategic Finance Associate

Job Description Introduction

We are seeking a talented, analytical and highly motivated Associate of Strategic Finance who is excited to be a crucial part of the finance team. This is a high-powered team with diverse perspectives composed of ex-IB, ex-PE individuals. The role requires a strong understanding of core corporate finance, capital markets and corporate strategy. You will assist with the company's short-term and long-term financial forecasting, key metric analysis, and financial reporting.

You will also help with financial modeling and key strategic financial projects in addition to preparing Executive and Board level communications. You'll also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and in close collaboration with company executive leadership, seasoned investment professionals, business operations & growth, marketing & sales, operations, and the legal team. Yieldstreet is creating access to alternative investment opportunities historically unavailable to most individual investors. With over $200 million in investments from the likes of Mayfair, Stepstone, Khosla Ventures, a16z and Soros, Yieldstreet is positioned to reimagine alternative investing, and is only just getting started. This role will be based out of the NYC office and requires being located within a commutable distance.

You should expect to be in the office 3 days per week.

• Gain a deep understanding of business drivers and fundamentals to help solve complex business problems throughout the company
• Assist with forecasting and financial planning for the company
• Maintain and improve long-term consolidated company forecast model
• Serve as operational finance partner to business teams around the organization, helping to define key metrics that will drive our business, measure our progress, and provide key financial insights
• Provide monthly financial reporting and insights, cost tracking, and KPI reporting to different teams across the company
• Play a key role in the annual budgeting process and lead monthly budget to actual reporting
• Assist the Executive Team on Board level communications, including quarterly reporting packages and ad hoc analyses
• Support the Executive Team on corporate development initiatives, including potential future venture capital fundraising and/or M&A
• Collaborate with Finance Operations on fundings of certain partnerships and reporting obligations to external parties
• Work closely with Accounting team on monthly- and year-end close processes, annual audit, revenue reconciliation and cost tracking
• Draft presentations for the Executive Team on corporate development initiatives, forecasting and planning, and budget to actual analysis
• Utilize data analytics to derive key insights on business performance

• 2-4 years of work experience at an investment banking, consulting or private equity firm
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• MS Excel mastery required (with experience in building financial models, analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports)
• Heightened attention to detail – must be meticulous and consistently accurate
• Exceptional problem-solving, business judgment, and analytical skills
• Team player with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• High degree of intellectual curiosity with exceptional work ethic, and a can do/will do attitude
• Self-motivated, with proven success thriving in a highly dynamic environment
• Experience with data analysis tools (Looker, Tableau, SQL) is a plus
