Location: New York

Ideally, we are looking for a finance professional with syndication experience who can be plug-and-play on day 1.

In addition, IB and DCM backgrounds can be complementary, with Originations as well.

Furthermore, a CRE and/or Healthcare CRE background can be viable candidates if they have led deals in the marketplace.

Syndicated Lending

The Associate will partner closely with senior members of the structured lending and capital distribution team to support the execution of syndicated and participated credit facilities. This role is responsible for assisting with the structuring, coordination, marketing, and distribution of commercial lending transactions across a broad range of industries and asset classes.

The position supports portfolio management objectives by helping manage exposure levels on complex credit transactions and facilitating relationships with external lending partners and institutional participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the execution and administration of syndicated and participated lending transactions from initial underwriting through closing and post-close servicing.
  • Support both primary market distribution activities and secondary loan participation opportunities generated internally or through external lending relationships.
  • Prepare transaction-related materials including lender presentations, executive summaries, financial analysis, marketing packages, and informational memoranda.
  • Coordinate and maintain virtual data rooms and due diligence documentation for transaction participants and counter parties.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders, borrowers, and external financial institutions throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Conduct financial analysis, underwriting support, industry research, exposure monitoring, and portfolio reporting related to syndicated credit opportunities.
  • Assist with transaction modeling, pipeline tracking, and preparation of presentation materials for prospective lending opportunities.
  • Partner with operational and servicing teams to ensure transactions are accurately documented, booked, and maintained within internal systems.
  • Identify opportunities to broaden client relationships through additional treasury, capital markets, or financial service solutions.
  • Support ongoing monitoring of counter party exposure levels and transaction-related risk considerations in coordination with internal risk management teams.
  • Assist in the review, drafting, and negotiation of credit agreements and supporting legal documentation alongside internal and external counsel.
  • Utilize various third-party financial platforms and reporting tools as part of day-to-day transaction management responsibilities.
  • Participate in team initiatives, market updates, internal training efforts, and process improvement projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Effective negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, lenders, legal counsel, and internal business partners.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong presentation and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending, structured finance, credit underwriting, syndicated finance, or related financial services environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Formal credit training or prior experience supporting middle-market or institutional lending transactions is a plus.
  • Industry licensing or securities registration experience preferred but not required.
