Location: New York

We are partnering with a global financial institution seeking an experienced Credit Risk professional to join its Loan Review team at the Vice President level.

The role will focus on independently reviewing the quality of underwriting, credit-risk ratings, loan documentation, collateral management, and ongoing monitoring across a diversified corporate loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess initial underwriting, annual reviews, borrower performance, and changes in credit quality
  • Review and validate obligor risk ratings and regulatory loan classifications
  • Confirm that credit documentation and collateral arrangements align with approved business terms
  • Evaluate the accuracy and timeliness of Front Office and Credit Risk monitoring activities
  • Document findings, conclusions, and recommendations in formal portfolio-review reports
  • Present review results to senior management, Risk, and relevant business-line stakeholders
  • Track remediation plans and follow up on the implementation of agreed recommendations
  • Perform continuous risk monitoring across assigned portfolios
  • Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory examinations

Candidate Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of banking experience with a strong focus on credit risk, loan review, or independent credit review
  • Strong credit and financial-analysis skills, including experience reviewing underwriting and borrower risk
  • Broad lending exposure across areas such as real estate, project finance, leveraged loans, and international corporate credit
  • Experience reviewing risk ratings, loan classifications, credit documentation, and collateral
  • Ability to prepare clear written reports and communicate findings to senior management and business stakeholders
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and credit-research tools such as Capital IQ
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver under time pressure
  • Latin America credit exposure or relevant credit certifications would be beneficial
