Title: Director – Specialized Finance & Project Credit Risk Officer

Office Status: Hybrid – New York, NY

Base Salary: $200k - $250k + Bonus

Overview:

This is a Director-level Credit Risk opportunity within the Specialized Finance function of a well-established global financial institution, focused on evaluating and managing credit risk across a diverse portfolio of specialized finance transactions spanning infrastructure, renewable energy, and digital development projects. The role sits at the intersection of financial sponsor strategy and project finance credit risk — offering meaningful involvement in large-scale transaction assessment, due diligence leadership, and risk mitigation strategy development.

It's an ideal fit for a seasoned specialized finance credit professional with 10+ years of experience who combines deep expertise in project finance structures, financial modeling, and sponsor-backed transactions with the ability to engage senior management, risk committees, and external stakeholders at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments for specialized finance transactions including detailed analysis of financial models, project viability, creditworthiness, and structural risk factors across infrastructure, renewable energy, and digital development sectors
  • Lead due diligence efforts to evaluate project risks and mitigate potential issues; coordinate with legal, technical, environmental, and other expert stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies to protect the institution's interests while supporting successful project outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including project sponsors, lenders, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment across all aspects of transaction execution
  • Prepare detailed risk reports, presentations, and credit views for senior management and Risk Management Committee
  • Stay current on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to inform risk assessment and decision-making across the specialized finance portfolio
  • Identify, implement, and support streamlining and simplification initiatives across the credit risk function both locally and globally
