Position OverviewThe VP of Finance will lead all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and operational accounting for a global, multi-channel apparel and fashion business. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, driving process improvements, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency. The VP will collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making and business growth. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities- Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting, including annual budget preparation and monthly projections.
- Manage the monthly closing process and ensure timely, accurate financial statements for multiple entities.
- Supervise all financial operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general accounting functions.
- Coordinate tax compliance and audit processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Drive process improvement initiatives and explore opportunities to integrate AI technology for efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- 15 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role within a multi-entity business.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and operational accounting.
- Proficiency with Netsuite general ledger; experience with Blue Cherry and Shopify preferred.
- Exceptional Excel skills and ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Demonstrated history of career growth and increasing responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- Experience in the retail, wholesale, or apparel industry.
- Familiarity with global financial operations and intercompany accounting.
- Proven ability to lead process improvement and implement best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Hands-on leadership style with a focus on team development and strategic thinking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
- Continuing education in financial management or leadership development is a plus.
