Position Overview

As a key member of one of NB Private Wealth’s largest Private Asset Management teams, the Senior Estate Planner will advise high-net-worth clients on all aspects of trust and estate planning, tax strategy, pre-liquidity events, and charitable giving. The role focuses on working with complex client relationships and those with the highest growth potential. The Senior Estate Planner will collaborate with both internal and external experts to deliver tailored, comprehensive advice and will leverage technology to scale and organize advisory content.

Strengthening client relationships, supporting wealth and investment strategy implementation, and expanding client connectivity are core responsibilities. A background in trust and estate planning is required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on trust and estate planning, tax strategy, pre-liquidity planning, and philanthropy in partnership with portfolio managers and the wealth planning team
  • Assist in the delivery of holistic wealth strategy services to help clients achieve financial goals and enhance their experience
  • Focus on deepening and retaining the largest, most complex client relationships, while also supporting business development through referrals and networking
  • Collaborate with the portfolio management team and others to ensure integrated, client-focused communication and participate in client events to deepen relationships
  • Track and report on key metrics including client retention, net asset flows, diversification, and client engagement
Experience & Qualifications
  • 7+ years’ experience in trust and estate planning, tax strategy, or related fields
  • J.D. required; LL.M. in Taxation a plus.
  • Background in law and/or wealth management preferred
  • Proven ability to manage complex, high-net-worth relationships with a focus on trust and estate planning
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; experience leading client meetings and events
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing direct trust, estate, and philanthropic advisory
  • Strong analytical skills and a metrics-driven approach to client retention and business growth
  • Collaborative team player comfortable working with portfolio managers and specialists
  • Ability to build multi-generational relationships and facilitate asset transitions
  • Commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
Compensation Details

This position is paid based on production compensation only. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement, life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.

The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, production, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company’s sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
