Company Overview

Meadow Partners is a vertically integrated real estate private equity manager with approximately $6.0 billion of gross assets under management, headquartered in New York City. Since its founding in 2009 by Jeffrey Kaplan, J. Andrew McDaniel and Timothy Yantz, Meadow has specialized in middle-market transactions in a few of the largest and most liquid real estate markets in the world. The firm's executive team averages over 20 years of investment experience and a proven track record of institutional investment management.

Meadow invests across the risk spectrum on behalf of blue-chip institutional investors, managing a series of commingled opportunistic funds, an open-end perpetual-life vehicle, and core/core-plus separately managed accounts. In addition to direct equity investments, the firm originates structured credit and preferred equity positions across multifamily, industrial and office assets. Meadow's business model is designed to focus singularly on investment performance rather than asset accumulation.

About the Role

Meadow is seeking a Vice President / Senior Associate to join its lean, entrepreneurial New York investment team, which invests across the U.S. This is a senior, high-responsibility position with direct exposure to the firm’s principals and Investment Committee. Given the entrepreneurial nature of the firm, all members of the team are involved in sourcing, structuring, financing and asset management, and the successful candidate will be expected to lead work streams and take ownership of transactions from origination through disposition.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the underwriting and structuring of potential transactions, including the creation and oversight of complex financial cashflow and valuation models
  • Preparing investment papers and presenting recommendations directly to the Investment Committee
  • Managing deal execution end-to-end, coordinating brokers, lenders, and legal, technical, tax and financial advisors
  • Sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and structuring potential equity and credit/preferred equity investments
  • Overseeing the asset management of fund investments, including developing and executing business plans and managing relationships with joint venture partners and third-party service providers
  • Mentoring and supervising analysts and associates, and reviewing their analytical work product
  • Preparing quarterly and annual investor reporting, and contributing to pitches, proposals and marketing materials
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of market conditions, capital markets, investment vehicles and any regulation which may impact the sector or a specific investment
About the Candidate

We are seeking a dynamic, self-starting professional with approximately 4-6 years of experience in real estate private equity, real estate investment banking, or a related transactional discipline, and a strong quantitative skillset. Given the entrepreneurial nature of the team, the ideal candidate is able to work autonomously, manage multiple transactions simultaneously, and demonstrate the judgment and maturity to represent the firm with counter parties and partners.

Qualifications

The candidate's skills, experience and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Approximately 4-6 years of real estate or investment banking experience, with demonstrable transactional and deal-execution experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading real estate transactions across the full deal lifecycle, including sourcing, underwriting, negotiation, marketing, due diligence, closing and asset dispositions
  • Strong academic pedigree
  • Highly numerate, with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability and a solid command of the financial concepts used to evaluate investments and build models - cash flow analysis, time value of money, return on investment, capital structures, and real estate financing and taxation
  • Advanced proficiency in complex financial modeling and the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); proficiency in Argus (AE) is a must
  • A strategic mindset and excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively and concisely to a highly sophisticated investment organization
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Self-motivated, with determination, initiative, and demonstrated high attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, data-driven, deadline-oriented environment

Meadow Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
