Location: New York

The Analyst will work closely with other investment professionals on small deal teams to execute on PE investment strategies within the U.S. Residential Mortgage sector. In this capacity, they will play an integral role in the acquisitions, transaction management, and servicing of new mortgage whole loans pools within Hudson’s investment management mandate for the Lone Star Funds’ private equity vehicles.

The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of investment strategies, capital markets financing structures, and analytics in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Position Responsibilities

Support all aspects of asset acquisitions, transaction management, servicing, and capital markets processes to execute on Hudson’s U.S. Residential Mortgage strategy

Participate in meetings with management teams, investment banking, and capital markets financing sources

Provide support to asset management initiatives of existing investments including but not limited to industry tracking, asset reporting, financial analysis, developing and executing business plans and other ad hoc strategic projects

Build ad-hoc analysis and prepare high-level research as needed

Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Expert MS Excel, analytical and financial modeling skills a must

Knowledge or experience in U.S. Residential sector, financials, asset-backed or structured credit is a plus

Highly organized with ability to manage multiple processes and priorities

Hard working, detail-oriented, and committed to producing great end results

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment and excel at executing multiple projects at once

Ability to work autonomously or as a member of a team

A self-teacher and quick learner able to pick up the technical skills necessary for any project

Mortgage or consumer loan management experience (collateral, whole loan review & diligence) is a plus

Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or quantitative field, preferred

Experience

0-4 years of experience in an investment bank, private equity, capital markets, rating agency, or other large financial institution

Asset management, analytics, or advisory experience preferred

Preferred sector experience includes financial institutions, structured products or capital markets

Compensation
  • Posted base salary is based on New York, NY. Compensation is subject to change if hired elsewhere.
  • Base salary only includes the base annual wage; base salary does not include other forms of compensation, such as commissions or bonuses.
  • Base salary also does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this advertised job, such as: employer-provided insurance, paid or unpaid time off work, the availability of or contributions towards retirement or savings funds, such as 401(k) plans, severance pay or overtime pay.

Role generally requires long hours – 60+ hours per week
