The Team

The North America Infrastructure Ratings team at S&P Global Ratings covers essential infrastructure assets across power, midstream, refining, and digital infrastructure, applying corporate credit and project finance skills to support capital formation across a rapidly growing sector. The team values rigorous credit assessment and a collaborative approach to delivering trusted credit opinions across complex infrastructure market segments.

Responsibilities and Impact

Team Contribution & Capability Building

  • Coach Research Assistants and Rating Analysts on credit analysis, data discipline, and analytical tooling, contributing to team consistency through shared standards and repeatable analytical processes.

Core Analytical & Delivery

  • Lead credit analysis for assigned credits, managing portfolio surveillance and updates by synthesizing performance, market signals, and peer context into clear risk insights, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
  • Apply large language model tools and automation in recurring analytical workflows, reviewing inputs, reconciling metrics, and documenting assumptions to maintain adherence to methodology and operating procedures.

Stakeholder & Market Engagement

  • Translate complex data, analysis, and research into clear narratives for clients, senior stakeholders, and rating committees, engaging with external parties alongside senior analysts.

Risk Management and Operating

  • Ensure adherence to analytical methodology, confidentiality standards, and data governance requirements, escalating emerging issues early with clear options and recommendations.
  • Contribute to controlled automation and agentic workflows, supporting design requirements, testing, and rollout while maintaining appropriate governance and human oversight.

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is USD $110,000 to $153,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licences, and certifications. S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is CAD $105,000 to $133,000. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licences, and certifications. What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in credit analysis, infrastructure finance, or project finance.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and articulating credit views, managing a portfolio of credits, and preparing committee-ready materials for rating committees across the North America infrastructure sector.
  • Demonstrated experience participating in management meetings, due diligence calls, and surveillance discussions, and contributing to the production and publication of high-quality rating reports.
  • Demonstrated credit, financial, and risk analysis skills, with the ability to connect analytical drivers to forward-looking risk views and risk appetite.
  • Practical experience embedding AI, large language models, or agentic workflows into analytical processes to improve productivity and insight.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and evidence-based narratives for senior stakeholders and rating committees.

Preferred or Helpful Experience

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated contribution to sector thought leadership, including commentaries, publications, or participation in regional or global analytical work groups.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring junior analysts in an analytical or financial services environment.
  • High standards for analytical quality, traceability, and governance, with experience contributing to scalable automation or agentic workflows.
