L​/S Equity Analyst, Biotech

We are partnering with a highly regarded, single-manager investment platform to hire an experienced Long/Short Equity Analyst focused on the Biotech sector. The role is based in either NYC or SF!

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative investment team with a long-term track record of generating alpha through deep fundamental research. The successful candidate will play a key role in idea generation across both the long and short sides of the portfolio, working closely with senior investment professionals and contributing directly to investment performance.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth fundamental research on publicly traded biotechnology companies.
• Build and maintain detailed financial and valuation models.
• Develop differentiated investment theses and present actionable long and short ideas.
• Monitor existing portfolio positions and industry developments.
• Meet with company management teams, industry experts, physicians, and key opinion leaders.
• Perform extensive due diligence, including analysis of clinical data, regulatory catalysts, competitive dynamics, and commercial opportunities.
• Collaborate with the investment team on portfolio construction and risk assessment.

Requirements:

• 3-8 years of relevant investing experience covering biotechnology equities.
• Prior experience at a hedge fund, long-only asset manager, or dedicated healthcare investment platform is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to generate differentiated investment ideas supported by rigorous fundamental research.
• Strong understanding of drug development, clinical trials, regulatory pathways, and biotechnology business models.
• Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and communication skills.
• Intellectual curiosity, high conviction, and a genuine passion for investing.
